I now have 2 86's. The Blue one I've been working on for years, and now I have a Black T/C auto which I'm getting it back into shape. It'll get a nice work over once the Blue Bird is finished.

86' Blue Turbo Coupe (resto-mod in progress)

I am a new owner of a 87 thunderbird turbo coupe 5sp! I recently was without a car and needing to get another nursing asst as my current client passed. My young and generous nephew had just purchased the car a week prior and gave me the car on payments!! I AM IN LOVE WITH IT! FUN FUN AND FAST! It needs some attention but surprisingly its in pretty good shape! Im excited to get to know her better!

That’s quite a stable you’ve got there, Mike, not to mention the other cars in the list!

Just curious and I hope you don’t mind me asking: Why all 1988 models? Is there a reason why you seem to prefer them, other than the newer model year and the few small refinements over the 1987 ones?

1987 Turbo Coupe w/T5OD, 8.8 axle, grey smoke; most options. Bought in 1991 with 41K miles: 3 turbos, 2 heater cores, 1 tranny swap (and now a full rebuild), 5 clutches, 1 head gasket, 2 Teves II ABS units, etc. later....

Lost in translation..........
'88 TurboCoupe, Automatic, stone-stock (as I just got it) for now. Trying to get it back running and roadworthy before mods begin.

86 Blue 5 speed, bought as a demo in 86. Was a daily summer driver into the 90's. Have been having rad fan issues for several years. Tried repairs last summer, but still not working properly. Will probably look into a complete replacement this summer as over heating isn't a great option.
