Time to let the T-bird go to a new, loving home.

1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Price: $4000 / offer
Color: Silver-blue Metallic (original color)
Engine: Turbocharged 2.3L inline 4 cylinder
Turbo: Garrett T3 with top mount intercooler
Transmission: 5 speed
Features: 4 wheel disc anti-lock brakes, 17” wheels with high performance tires, power seats, power windows, original Hella fog lights, 3-inch performance exhaust

Rebuilt and new parts listed all have less than 5k miles on them. I have receipts with lifetime warranties for many of the new parts. Car is originally from Washington state and has been 100% garaged since I purchased it about 10 years ago. There is no rust other than a little surface rust inside the trunk (top left side). See comparison photo between the engine cross-member bolts from my previous car vs. this one for proof of no rust.

This car has been in the works for over 10 years. I started with a different one that turned out to be a rusty mess, so I recycled it and bought this one. Runs great and starts up with no problems even after sitting for awhile. I get an occasional check engine light but not sure why. I have a ton of extra parts that will come with the car if desired. More details below.

Engine and mechanical...
Rebuilt engine with less than 5k miles
New Garrett T3 turbo with adjustable boost valve
New 3” Exhaust with high flow cat and flowmaster muffler
New radiator
New distributor, EEC IV module, multiple sensors, hoses, plug wires
Rebuilt fuel injectors
K&N cone filter
New brakes (rotors, pads, calipers, front wheel bearings)
New emergency brake cables
New steering rack and pinion
New power steering pump
Other new stuff I have forgotten about

Exterior...
Silver-blue metallic polyurethane paint job less than 5 years old (100% garaged since painted)
17” Mustang Cobra wheels with summer performance tires and nitrogen fill
Restored rear corner windows
Restored windshield trim
Restored rear window trim (needs installed)

Interior…
Generally in decent condition, still needs some parts installed (sale includes all parts)
Rebuilt door panels ($375 value)
New carpet
All gauges work correctly
Decent dash (2 cracks)
Panasonic CD head unit
New blower motor
New A/C condenser and heater core (both need hooked up)
Air box removed and cleaned out 2 years ago when condenser and heater core were replaced

What’s left to do…
Install door panels
Install refinished rear window trim
Finish the side window trim (started sanding but didn’t finish)
Replace front left wheel bearing (squeaks)
Figure out why the check engine light comes on sometimes
Hook up the heater core
Rebuild A/C pump; install and fill A/C
Adjust caster/camber of front end (may need caster/camber plates which are about $200)
Fix cruise control (spare parts included in sale)

Much of the hard restoration work has been done on this car. It’s in great condition and has lots of potential for someone who has the time and motivation. I have a ton of extra parts that will go with the car, including an extra set of head/tail lights, a few spare interior parts, extra set of rear springs, cruise control parts, extra steering wheel, and a bunch of miscellaneous electronics and other stuff. Could probably make half your money back selling the extra parts on eBay.
