Just wondering what everyone is doing in their automotive life. I know a lot of the TC's we got on here are always in-progress projects, but what else are you working on?

I've got two other project cars here at the moment:

The '50 Chevy (I know...) - This is an LTP (Long-term project). My wife wants me to do it up all fancy and original. I want to rat-rod the thing. It's a 4 door so the kids can ride in the back comfortably. I want to do the hot rod black/red top/wheels scheme. Engine-wise I don't know. The original 236 is really in good shape and I got a new carb on there so it's staying at least for a while. At some point I'd like to see a V8 of some sort go in there.

And the '66 Mustang - This one is a joint venture between my brother and I. A guy owed him some money so the car was almost free. I'm doing the work on it. My brother hates Mustangs so this one may end up being sold when it's done if I can stand to let it go. I'm not big in to getting rid of cars, myself...

Sooooo.... what you got??

How long you got before that last 2% is done, Travis? That thing will be a blast when it's done!

I like the Ranchero... That's one car that I have literally never seen around here in the 10 years I've lived in VA.

I've been in the process of climbing the old corporate ladder so I haven't had many projects going on.

Right now I'm toying around with a 660cc Yamaha Raptor and a Porsche Cayman. What can I say, I love the adrenaline rush that speed and acceleration brings.

Travis can't wait to see your turbo Windsor, always thought that would be the perfect set up.

I'm working on a '72 Comet(Maverick twin) that I bought as a unfinished project... Body wise everything was removed & painted, new interior, even all NOS glass, but aesthetically the engine compartment was a mess...

Sooo now it's getting a fresh built, never fired(at least till yesterday) 306 with alu heads that I found on Craigslist... It still has a long way to go but I now have all the pieces to put it together, incl all new front suspension, parts to rebuild the power steering, install '69 Torino disc brakes, etc(discs were not avail on Maverick/Comet till '74, can you imagine that?)...

As I bought it... Still missing a few things(in trunk), and the GT stripes

The "ahem" engine compartment... I started just going to repl a slightly leaking water pump and spruce it up a bit but obviously things snowballed, next thing I knew the engine was out as well as all front suspension...

Its current state... The C4 trans is fresh with maybe 50mi or it would be out as well..

Found all this stuff hiding under the front fenders, anyone have any idea how to put it back???

Steering sector cleaned and detailed...

Fresh 306 with Pro Comp heads, 8020 Weiand intake, and smallest Lunati Voodo cam available for small block... I had a freind go back through the shortblock just to be sure it was machined and assembled correctly & this was taken yesterday just a couple minutes prior to first start... Originally had a rumpy-rump cam(sold) and E'brock EFI intake, that will go on my T-Bird...

I just have to run 2 wires for the alternator and prime and hopefully start.

Next weekend if all goes right.

It was my daily driver/autocross car for 3 years. Last year the engine spun a rod bearing and I had to do a complete rebuild of the turbo and engine. Once I get the clutch master, slave, and starter replaced, it will be good to roll.

I've sure had my fun with the awd dsm... my last 91 with full interior was running 9.27 in the quarter, then it blew apart the rear diff and I called it a day with them. Shortly after I came across my 84 bird! I have had my fill of them. Although they are damn fast with the awd..

Other than my TC, Ive got a '99 Yamaha Warrior 350 that well there isnt a whole lot left stock on it!!! LOL Apparently I dont know how to leave well enough alone! Its bored .080 overwith a 10.5:1 piston, head was shaved .015", kibblewhite valves with a +1mm intake, mild p&p, R&D HD springs, megacycle .450 lift cam, full Yoshi exhaust, Dynatek programmable CDI, CFM aluminum air box with UNI filter, Lonestar swinger and a-arms, Works black widow front shocks, banshee rear shock, ITP beadlock rims and the list keeps going!!

Also once I run out of stuff to do on my TC, Ive got a special little project for my FIL. A VW based fiberglass body dune buggy, similar to the one in the link Ill post. Just doesnt look as good!! LOL Needs alot of cleaning, brake work, possibly some rewiring, and basically a resto!! Its got true Cragar SS rims on it which Im going to have powder coated since they have lots of corrosion. Ill actually grab a pic of it tomorrow when Im out there.

That's the nicest comet I've seen. Most are driven into the ground and left to rot in someone's back yard.

My other project is a car I've been after for most of my life.. my dad's 79 cutlass calais. Of course I get all the headaches that came after the car sat for 10 years. Got it running, drove it for a few months and killed the 305 my dad built for it. Have a 350 in the garage waiting to go in, I just have to drag the car home. I have a lot of rust to fix, that's for sure.

87 TC: 5spd, started B234F head swap (overall setup changing), Quarterhorse, T3/T4 63 a/r, 3" exhaust, walbro 255, tubular front clip, 5 lug swap, 17x8 front/17x9 rear cobra r's, wilwood 4 piston calipers (rear only, for now), lightened 471lbs so far

Thanks... My Comet came from MS and had all but zero rust, has just 66K mi... Have sales contract from original owner, warranty card, etc as well as info on owners #2 & #4(MS just adds a number to orig title to signify each owner)... A friend bought it from a used car seller on ebay and had it painted, all new glass, etc... He had(has) too many projects so I offered to buy it unfinished...

It's had the nose up stance since reassembly and I've put maybe 10 miles on it and hasn't settled, surprising as springs are original... Probably going to try a set of 6cyl springs...

I saw a really nice '78/'79 Olds Cutlass on a flatbed headed toward Richmond yesterday, commented to wife how cherry it appeared... Of course to her was just another car...

Looking back at the first post of this thread, things have changed. Now I own the Mustang myself and the Chebby is for sale.

My father and I are working on swapping a TR3650 5-speed into a 1998 Mark VIII LSC. The car had been painted "Banana" Yellow by a barefoot water-skier from Florida. Still a work in progress mainly because my father got side-tracked after buying a Peterbilt 386 and started adding a sink, APU, and toilet to it... Here's a link to a site I made showing the progress on the Mark: https://sites.google.com/site/bananalincolnmark8/home
